Forgiveness
To forgive is to honour The deeper self within To step away from perceived hurt Not let the ego win We think it shows a weakness To let past traumas go But truly it's a blessing It is how our spirit grows Why hold onto anger Or hurt, or fear, despair? When we can drop all heaviness And breathe much cleaner air For grudges serve no purpose They only cause self-harm They do not impact others Who stay unaware, and calm Instead focus on blessing Those who hurt with words or deeds This will disrupt their influence Allowing you to pay no heed Forgiveness is a practice With intention, it will grow Over time you will rise higher As you let vengeance go

Pitch perfect, Trudi! A daily practice in my humble opinion. So well expressed in your poem.:)
Such beautiful words for a beautiful truth. I wish it was always easy to let things go.
