You could have! If it was something similar to what I described, then you could have seen them. Looking at the size and the V-shape of the buck’s antler, ( no branches side-ways), it is 2 year’s old, so it was his first rut.
I never knew this - about the balance - but of course I know how the natural world is being disrupted. And I also did not think hunters would live animals in the way you describe. You have taught me a lot, Zsolt.
I am a hunter. And hunters love wildlife and care for them. Unfortunately civilisation shrunk the habitat of the game animals. The existing population of the predators is not enough to keep a balanced number of deers and other herbivores, so the young shots of the trees are eaten by them, and the forest needs defence to keep it healthy growing. The foresters, the farmers and the hunters together have to cooperate and neutralise the damage done by civilisation.
If you hear someone telling you that hunters are indiscriminately killing the poor animals to extinction, don't believe them. Poachers are doing such crimes, but hunters have nothing to do with them, except chasing and get prosecuted them. I want my grandsons to continue my hunting, so I have a personal reason to protect the game.
Thought provoking
It is, isn’t it? Thanks, Julie.✨

Let me HOPE any day.
Hope is good to hold onto, Candy ✨

"I'd rather be a forest
Than street
Yes I would
I surely would..." (El Condor Pasa..."
Especially if I could see the gracious Roe Deer
I’d rather be a forest, too! ✨

It is my pleasure Trudi! I will publish an instructive history of hunting soon.
You know so much about deer! 🦌

As always left me pondering, wandering and wondering
For me think it is
Upfront
In the midst
Or left behind
Just saying
Thank-you for the stirring
You’re always welcome, Steve 🤗✨
This is wonderful Trudi ✨
