Today
Today I watched the sunrise Saw the sky give birth to hope Heard the early notes of songbirds 'Winter's gone!' their current trope Today I watched the sunrise Saw the sky alight with flame Barren trees provided contrast Silhouetted without shame Today I watched the sunrise Saw the sky expand and glow As it gently held the sacred sphere That gives light to all we know Today I saw the sunrise Saw the sky as part of me Felt the threads of a connection In one moment, eternity

What a beautiful poem, Trudi. I particularly liked the last verse and felt as I was readingĀ it that I was reading a poem by Emily Dickinson because of the way it makes something that could be classified as an ordinary, everyday event quite extraordinary in that it imbues it with heavenly significance.
Today I saw the sunrise
Saw the sky as part of me
Felt the threads of a connection
In one moment, eternity
This is beautiful Trudi š
